Re: Manx sidewinder - type coating

Very interesting reading; I contacted Jet-Hot a while back & was quoted $200 for my header w/turbo turnout, and if I wanted, they'd jet-coat my turbo for another $75. Your pipes being re-done April 2010 puts about a 5 year design life on the coating? Curious, where & what type failures are y...

Manx sidewinder - type coating

Anyone know what the coating is on Meyer's exhaust header/muffler? I had not seen one in person until MOTB, and while I have a custom exhaust w/my turbo, I like the look of sidewinder coating better than my ceramic coat. Guess the natural follow-on question, anyone know what company does the coating...

transaxle trouble spots - clips, spring

Continuing from a different thread, I got the '63 transaxle out & '67 installed; but I can't get the throwout bearing clips installed & having trouble getting big spring on cross-bar (just outside bellhousing). Clips are new (heavy duty), cross-bar is new (has "holes" vs. "not...

Hey thanks guys! I ended up using a 3/8" stainless rod (~18" long), ground the tip to slight hook & drove it into the seal near input shaft. Presto, instant seal removal. The picture below tells "the rest of the story", pulled engine & '63 transaxle Friday; put '67 transa...

input shaft seal (stuck)

I'm sure this question's been asked/answered many times. Any tricks of the trade to removing a stuck transaxle input shaft seal? I picked up a seal removal tool (Advance) with nice hooks to grab inside near shaft, but can't seem to get it loose. This '67 transaxle was in the junk yard since early '7...

Here in SC, near record highs in upper 70's; making it difficult to move forward with my plans - - - hope cooler weather comes soon so I don't feel like I'm missing out... Christmas break plan is to replace my '63 transaxle w/a '67 I've been working to rebuild over the past few months. Then, if time...
