MANX 1 (-2)

Have an opportunity to purchase a Manx 1 with -2 at the end of the serial number which I am really excited about.  Read on the Samba that the -2 was a combination of a Manx 1 body with a one piece Manx 2 hood and fiberglass dash.  Emailed Winnie and she wasn't sure, but thought it might be something...

Manx II Restoration

Thank you all very much for the compliments.  Actually did not touch the tag other than new rivets and a little wax.  I was fortunate enough to have a manx where the tag didn't get too beat up over the 40+ years.  However those ones that show more aging and character are IMHO awesome!  Thanks again.

Hope you all are having a great summer.  Havin' a blast driving around in the Manx.  Running great, just a few minor things to button up (having seats reupholstered in front and rear).  Thank you for the kind comments.  Here are some mostly finalized pics.  -Ryan http://images.yuku.com/image/jpg/26b...

Manx II Restoration

Been working on the body for a long time now, sooooooo tired of sanding!  Driving home after picking my son up from school, he randomly threw out the idea that I should "paint the dune buggy green".  After a moment of thought, I believe it was a brilliant idea.  With the white wheels I dec...

Yea I'm right at about 25mm curve now, I can add some washers to eliminate chatter.  Where is a good range?  Thanks for keeping me on my toes, I am always open to any help or suggestions since this is my first go at this :)

I received the stock transmission back from Rancho!  I installed the swing assembly with new german rubber boots, bowden tube, clutch cable, throwout bearing.  I used a swageless stud to shorten the clutch cable which I was very impressed with, easy install, and it didn't cut into the cable like the...

I received the front wheels from Tim Gavern and put them on :)  They are 15 x 6 with 5 on 205 bolt pattern, powder coated white.  I can semi-see the finish line, gettin' excited! http://images.yuku.com/image/jpg/77626fa6c5dca0002e6f407af035b20ea72857b7_r.jpg http://images.yuku.com/image/jpg/aaf16465...

Thanks guys, much appreciated.  You are correct about seeing an SR badge, however I did not know that it was released from the factory like this, I assumed that the previous owner put it on.  Thats pretty cool!
