I had the same problem in my buggy. I ended up cutting off the tip that points out the back. So now it points straight down. Fixed my problem all together. Maybe give it a shot?

Its not a manx club thing but I just found out that the Peterson Museum in LA is having a special car show on Saturday May 4th.
