Bricklin and Meyers? Fast Track?
I saw this piece on Clunkbucket (a pretty good site for wrenchers) about a project Bruce and Malcolm Bricklin worked on...it was new to me http://lanemotormuseum.org/collection/3 ... ck-11-1980

Old Flush Fuel cap?
My old Resorter came with a nice fuel cap that mounted flush to the body. It was chrome plated plastic with the grip to unscrew it that looked like Mercedes Logo (three raised spokes that meet in the middle) This is not the actual tank cap, but rather covers the hole above the tank. Anyway, I've see...

Iron Bottom Revisited in a Buggy
Hey there Amigos, last year I posted a bit of info on the Iron Bottom No Frills Motor Tour...3 days of driving sportycar fun. This past year, after bugging folks here with a million moronic questions, I finally got my Tourista finished and was able to embark on high adventure in my Buggy wearing my ...

What special things do you have in your shop?
One of the best things I ever did to improve my megre skills as a backyard wrencher was to read some books by guys who were skilled at mechanical things. Roger Welsh (AKA Capt. Nebraska) used to restore a 1930's tractor every year or so, and his tips on what you need in a garage or shop were fantasi...

And it only rains in winter here.
The Cold is clouds are a drag, and while it only rains here (Northern California) a little bit...the thing that gets me is that it's dark when I get home. I am so looking forward to having 2 or 3 hours of wrenching time after I drag my butt home. I think being able to work on projects is thereputic ...

It's Arctic here too, man
Yeah well...it hardly got into the 70s yesterday, and might rain today...It was so windy this february a bunch of grapefruit fell off the tree before I picked it. It's hell all over.

How much does your buggy Weigh?
I was tinkering with my Tourista today...trying to get the roof to fit, and so on...and one of my neighbors came up asked me how much it weighed...and I really had no idea. (He once raced Sprites, and thinks Buggys might be heavier)

Fantastic bloke runs the Braelossie in Elgin, he's an RAF fellow, and into off roading and hunting...maybe you know him. (This was a few years ago) I was in the UK last month again and would encourage anybody who can make the trip over here to do so. The price differences are outragious. Shame about...

Resolution
My resolution is to get the long dorment Tourista reserected by April. The multitudes of questions I've been posting will soon come to fruition (or so I resolve) and my and my unsightly Meyers and I will enter the Iron Bottom No Frills. Anybody else planning to go on this run? They moved the Year ba...

Where to put Spare?
I see that many of you have a compressor rather than haul a spare along, but if you do keep a spare on your buggy, where have you chosen to place it and how? It seems like the hood would be a splendid place (Like old Land Rovers) but I don't wish to drill anything onto my rig. Any cleaver solutions?
