FWIW, I've ditched the facet pump and regulator and ordered a rotary pump from cb performance. 3.5 psi, high volume, no regulator necessary. Will post results when it gets here. In the mean time, my facet pump, with all of about 10 minutes of use, will be for sale for what... $25? I'll post it on sa...

I can't seem to find this regulator for sale anywhere.. Can anyone point me to where I can find one? [QUOTE=Reverb]As far as mounting the pump in the front...I think it`s a good idea. I`ve heard that it`s always better to push the fuel from the tank, rather than pull it from the engine. Weber makes ...

The quest for unusual transportation. ;) In mid '02 I started the process of importing a Lotus Elise - which was then not legal in the states, but there were way of getting it done. My research led me to rumors of Lotus federalizing the car as an '04 or '05 model. In 1/03, Lotus made the official an...

Somewhat on topic - is there anything I should know or any help hints when pulling the tank? I'm new to buggies & need to replace my tank (or at least clean it - it's full of rust). I see four bolts through the fenders and the bolts holding on the winshield - is that all there is to removing the...

The gas tank is old. It appears to have some rust in the bottom. I actually thought about replacing it - didn't know they were so cheap or readily available. I also didn't think I had a normal VW tank - the fuel filler is up by the driver's side front light and it doesn't seem to hold much gas - may...

in answer to some questions: Why is the idle set so high? I have no idea. I'm not sure it is set to be that high, I think something is wrong that's causing it to be that high because it's not that high when it's cold or after it's been idling for a few minutes. This isn't a weber carb, it's an Empi....

Can't say that the problem happened with the carb install because I didn't install it. It was put on by the previous owner just before he sold it to me. He seemed to think it was running good... and it does for a few minutes - or at idle for quite a while. What Kind of carb... hmm... not sure. I jus...

[QUOTE="newmanx59"]The intake manifold will ice up just below the carburetor, from the air moving thru the intake at high velocity. VW installed a tube on the intake manifold that runs from the rear exhaust port on one side of the engine to the exhaust port on the other side of the engine....

If by "iceing" you really mean freezing water.... I don't think it's been below freezing here in years. ;o) It certainly hasn't been since I've owned the buggy.
