Champaign glass underboard. The steel plate (.062 steel) was added since the front of the board was broken off after the accident very early in the buggies life.
This is a good shot showing the fuel tank, porsche hoop and some of the inside of the "tunnel". Also a much thinner and younger me
Here I am pointing at the steel tube added by the owner of the car. This ran from the front torsion to the rear torsion bars.
Yep...Strong man. This is a good shot of the floors and seat mount area. The roll bar is a stock height manx roll bar and the foam on it was to protect ones noggin from whacking the bar. When sitting in the buggy, the bar was right about center of the back of my head.

I found the Odyssey brand batteries (as Scott is using) and have been running them for 14 years in the monocoque, Towd etc. I needed a cover to fit the battery so as to hide the fact that I had a modern battery in the car. I made a vacuum form buck and vac formed a look alike 6V cover .
The leather strap is hooked to footmans loops. This loops over the battery, back through the lower loop (missing on Scotts car) and up over the spare tire.
Sorry about these being rotated...I attempted fruitlessly to rotate and save these out in the correct orientation.
Just turn your screen or head to view them in the correct manner.

For those of you who haven't been following his posts on the Samba, Parmaynu is courageously building his own monocoque buggy pretty much from scratch.!
Parmaynu, If there's any specific pics you want to see, please let me know and I'll get them posted.

Thank you Scott. Things are going slow on the project at the moment. The weather here is so wet at the moment that I can't get any fibreglassing done. I only have half a single garage space to work in so the elements need to be on my side!
I will take you up on that offer in the coming months though if that is ok. Pics and measurements will be so much help thank you!

Sorry Parmayu! Unfortunately, I have a lot of stuff I'm working on and the monocoque has moved over a little bit to the back burner. Please let me know if there's something specific you'd like to see and I'll post it for you. A couple of weeks ago I ended up renting storage because I could no longer house the buggies . . .I added this over the weekend, so I can now fit all of them inside!

You are going to wonder how you ever got by without them.
Great addition to a shop area.

Scott - I see the surfboard mounts on the roof of the Manxter. How did they work out for you? Tom

Great garage that!
My project is on the go slow at the moment. Funds and weather grinding things to a snails pace. Will start a build thread on here soon.

Hi Tom, I like them! The profile is a little off, but they work great. I have to call him tomorrow and work things out. He's never said what he wanted for them. Do you have any idea how much I should pay him?

Is it the roof profile or the board profile that is off? If it is the board, maybe all the Meyers Manx boards have a different shape. He used my board and Kathleen's broken roof to make them. He didn't charge us either, something about being way behind schedule. I would pay him @ $200.00 Tom

It is the board profile, the roof profile is perfect. I have two Manx boards and they are completely different from one another. I think its a matter of whatever blanks are on hand when they get the order. Both boards are very nice, however. Great on the price, that's the same ballpark I was in. I'll get a check out to him today.
