Found a Manx2?

Hope I have found a Manx 2? It does have the bump in front and does seam larger that the type 1 but have not measured. Has the flat tray for IRS. Has correct Manx lisence bump. It is yellow, Looked for number plate above shifter no holes either. Does not have reinforcing tubes and the Dash is black and looks like type 1 removable, Did not check if had frame behind it.
Do you think it could be a Manx2? I may buy anyway price is good and a good place for left over build parts. If you guys think it might be one I will go back and take some pictures but 3 hrs away
Rest of car is there IRS ball joint duell port and seams like nice pan with with 4 lug spoke wheels needs seats but fiberglass seams nice.

All Manx II had tags identifying them as a BF Meyers product. If it does not have a tag or evidence of ever having fitted with a tag, my opinion is it is not a Meyers Manx II. Look closely from the rear to see if any remnants of the 4 holes may have been covered over.

But, they make really cool buggy's to enjoy no matter the make.

I was afraid of that. I will look better when I pick it up. I have had a few when I was young and maybe I just wished it was a true manx. Even if it has plate mounting holes it should have an attached dash rite? But still should be fun.

The Manx II did have a fiberglass dash that was bonded to the hood.

That looks like a nice buggy to build.

That definitely is a nice start to a buggy. If the price is right you cannot go wrong.

Like Joe says, look very closely from underneath (if you can get there), and from inside the tub for evidence of any holes. When I bought the Tow'd I had, the tag was lost, and the holes filled. Fortunately, they weren't 100% filled in correctly (although close), and you could barely see a very small depression in the new paint. This helped when getting it authenticated.

Also, when you say you checked above the shifter, you are talking about the shift rod connecting opening (rear "firewall"), correct?

Either way, it does look like a very nice start on a buggy build. Once start on it, post lots of pictures. We LOVE us some pictures here!

Looks like you've got a great start! Only way to tell is to try and get it authenticated.

I read and compare other Manx2's and I think it is one. I read Manx.com description and don't think so. So next time I am were car is I need to check for painted dash and plack holes. I hope it is one but if not its a real good copy.

It would be cool if it is one. But, if it is not, it is still that classic shape that everyone loves. Looks like a really good start on a fine buggy.

You know you don't have to worry about the resize thing if you use the Gallery instead of using the attachments. Take a look at Bud's instructions, pretty simple really...
