turbo muffler exhaust with dual carbs

Post by Gene-C »

I would like to run this exhaust http://www.cbperformance.com/catalog.asp?ProductID=377 but I just called them, and they said it wouldnt clear my dual Kadron carbs. Does anybody make an exhaust like this to clear my carbs? Thanks -Brian

What would hit? The manifolds? I see no reason that exhaust would not clear dual kadron carbs, (with, or without heat).

I run the Tri-Mill version of the same system (no heat) and it clears my Kadrons easily... Image

I don't think they would hit. it would be crazy to build any exhaust that would hit any carb setup.

I like the tri mill. it is a great set up. i have one sitting in my garage now about 300 miles on it . It will not work with the turbo. Now it is just a 4'' sweep of steel tube should be fun to hear it when it is completed.

I also have the Tri-Mill setup (ceramic coated) and I'm also running Kadrons. Its no where near the carbs! The only problem I have is the exhaust seems to line up and blows on my rear cage (burns and blackens the paint on it).

This is the exhaust that was on my buggy when I got it. I can tell with absolute certainty that dual carbs will not fit with it. I know it's not the same thing, but it prove duals will not fit with every exhaust. Image

I called them back, and another employee confidently told me it will clear my Kadrons. I ordered the chrome quiet turbo exhaust from CB performance.

Then I had the big idea of turning it upside down to try them. that won't work either. If you look at this picture you can see that the carbs stick out about 1-1.5" past the valve covers. If the exhaust is low enough maybe it will work. The exhaust in the picture is the Manx eshaust. Good Luck and nice buggy. Image
