carpet question

my manx is complete and i wanted to put in one of those new carpets. can this be done with the body left on , maybe just lifting it a little. and can that be done with not much disassembly. has anybody done this? thanks

Yes, just unbolt it and tuck it under. Check out the free carpet thread.

Can I just install it over the flange around the inside of the body? Mine is not only bolted but sealed with silicone. Also I gues I should call you to find out how I go about measuring for a kit.

You, can mount it over the flange but it will have to be finished off. They will fit any buggy shortened 14 1/4" or full length. If you need any further help please give me a call as I do not want to use this forum as a sales tool.

Definitely get the Tijuana Customs kit. It is wonderful. I just had to lift the body enough to tuck it under the edge. I suppose you could trim it back and not lift the body at all if you wanted. With a Manxter, you can install without unbolting/lifting the body. I just trimmed and tucked the carpet under the body flange. Excellent fit! Olli
