Head on with an insect
whilst riding a dirt bike today I was hit right between the eyes with some kind of insect (I think),,,,, been hit in the face by them loads of times in the past, but this one hurt real bad,, skidding to a halt & checking in the rear veiw, all I could see was a real small slit hole between the eyes ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, that happened over 10 hours ago,,,,, the pain and swelling seems to be getting worse by the hour,,,, its now going down the right hand side of my face & feels real tender,,, a bit like Mike Tyson hit me in the face. Its not often it gets that hot here that you have to ride with ''visor up'' to keep cool,, but I wish now I'd put the thing down Maybe its an allergic reaction,,,,,has anyone here experienced this kinda thing before??? The way this damn swellings going I reckon the elephant man could be greeting me in the bathroom mirror monday morning :help:

I got a bee inside my mouth while riding a bicycle once . I made the guy riding with me scrape the stinger out with my knife while standing on the side of the road during rush hour :help: . I almost couldn't stop laughing (with the knife still in my mouth) while thinking about what that sight must have looked like to any passer-by, one guy holding a knife inside the mouth of another while standing on the side of the road . Got the stinger out, and my mouth was a little numb for a couple of hours. :drinking: So, any word on how you are doing today?

A STINGER in the MOUTH!!!,, then a KNIFE!!! good job the police never saw that Im doing fine today thanks  the swelling & pain went down within 24 hours,,,, was doing over 50 mph when it hit me,, felt more like a BB shot. I like open face riding, yesterday was about the hottest day in UK so far this year,, and I was riding past a cow field at the time,, a recipe for disaster
My glass buggy has no windshield, the first time I had it out on the highway I brought my Scott goggles along and just after I switched from by sunglasses to goggles a bumble bee about the size of a Cesna 140 came and hit the lense at 70 mph. I cannot imagine how bad that would hurt even without the stinger. I WISH I could find an old set of ww2 goggles and a snoopy helmet.
I was working with a guy that got stung by a bee one morning just behind the temple. within 30 minutes he had a knot on the spot about the size of a walnut. by the end of the day the spot (walnut) had moved down to the side of his neck just above his shoulder. when he came to work the next morning it (walnut) had moved down to his chest just below the shoulder but by that time it was only about the size of an acorn. the next day it was gone. he said it was very hot, itchy, and painfull the first day and night. then only itchy for a day or two.

A few years ago I was driving the Towd wearing shorts. The weather was hot, and I had my left knee hanging out beyond the hood cowl. Next thing I know I feel an insect in my pantleg. It's a bee trapped in the leg of my shorts. Slammed on the binders and got stopped as quick as I could, but not before the critter stung me. Passers-by must have wondered what was going on as I danced beside the buggy.
