Dual 34mm or dual 40mm on stock 1600?

I have a mostly stock 1600dp on my buggy. I am wanting to put dual carbs on it. Would dual 40's be too much for it? I see pacific customs offers a set of dual 34mm solexs now. Would that be a better route? I am building a 1935 for it which I will go with 48mm carbs. Will I see much a performance gain on the stock 1600 with dual carbs of will it be more trouble then its worth. Thanks for the input. Jeremy Chattanooga, TN

Get some 40's. They can be jetted to run on a stock 1600 no problem, yet can be tuned to run on a bigger engine as well. My friend has a 1955 that screams and it has 40's. MURZ
