I asked a VW guy who does some of my work and he wasn't sure. When i get it out of storage ill take some pic of under it I would be courious what has been done. I pray it will run in the spring not like it did this summer. I want to go to some of the shows and meet some of the guys I already know a few most likely you know 1 of them (Kustoms) he has been a great help. Now for the side pods mounting I been looking at the old threads and i am a bit unsure of what needs to be done. If anyone has pics of how the fit it would be very helpful. Ron

Ron, With regards to the side pods, there really is no secret. A nice jack and a 2" piece of 2X4 will help you get it in place. An extra set of hands would be a help but not fully needed. Put the pod up against the body and with the jack and 2x4 (covered in something soft) under the pod, and gently start raising it into position. (be very careful and move very slow) If you can get the pod seated under the body lip the first time you are ahead of where I was. Take a look around the whole pod to see if any areas are going to need to be trimmed or sanded. This will probably need to be done in several areas. (Some have used heat guns or a sunny day to make the pods more pliable) Repeat 100 time until the pod fits perfectly and secure with some bolts. I have the original Meyers directions on my home computer as well as many pictures of when I did it.

Ron, If you do come out to So Cal in March, I'd be interested in your short windshield. Looks just like what I want. You can send me an email by clicking on my name and finding the method of emailing me. We can talk $$$ via email.

Ron, Let me know if you need this emailed in a larger format, the file size is pretty small on this board for this type of document. If you are making the trip out West and back, I would love to see if you have room for a hard top, I would be happy to give you some cash. (not sure how big of a truck you have?)

I would like to see the directions larger and add some pictures to it if you don't mind so i can see how much work this is. The truck (if i get the work) will depend on the size of the job usely i would send a 53' trailer and most likly have room I let you know i should know more or less in a few weeks. I wouldn't take cash just trade some buggy work. Cause i am new to this VW stuff and I haven't toyed with cars in lonnnng time (thing got lost in the head) and i am having a few engine promblems. Ron
