Manx 1 Steering Bracket Measurement Needed

Post by MickeyUSA »

[font=Times New Roman]If anyone has access to the Steering Bracket/Support I would like to have the measurements for the bolt holes, I have done searches and found the front view but I also need a side view. I am going to build my own (Manx 1/Sig combo) but would like to have the hole locations and the distance from the bottom windshield hole to the cross tube. It also appears that my Manx had two holes in the body per side but everything I have seen only has one per side, the second body hole seem to be at a different angle to the windshield. If need be I?ll just use the existing holes for my measurements but the hood height is also dependant on this. As the saying goes ask once, measure twice and cut/weld once.

Will this help you out? If you need more measurements. Image

Already stole that drawing, and it is actually the reason I decided to make my own. Planning to use the sides (shorten) and the round cross tubing, just need measurements for the bolt hole locations, basically a side view of the drawing. Additional does the bend start right below the tube? And I would like to thank for this drawing also.

Drilling Brace

Post by Jon »

Mickey, There are three holes per side on the Manx brace the top two are for the windshild attachment. Below them is a third hole that bolted thru the tub below the dash for extra support. Body to brace! The slight tweek in the bar starts at the bottom of the tubing. It fits the shape of the tub. Jon

cool, don't know what the four hole was for. Wouldn't happen to have the measurements of the three holes and cross tube would you.

I will try to measure mine tomorrow. I don't know if it's possible to get an accurate measurement from an assembled Manx. I'll give it a shot.
