I have finally located what I think is the perfect tail light - it is LED (bright and in your face) and has turn, stop and running lights in one assembly. 15 and 1/2 inches long and 1 1/5 inches wide. Yet only 3/4 inches thick. I will surface mount it (only one hole for the wires in the middle and one each end for mounting) dead center of the rear - on the apron above the tag mount. It is just the right length for this. Best part is that it is only about $35.00. now that the rear is covered - gotta get the fronts - LED would be nice.

Nice unit Jim, can you provide any info such as brand or where you got it? Is Grote the brand I see on the package?

I was at an Emergency Vehicle Show all week - I think that every manufacturer of lights in the world had a booth. Still blinded by all the red, blue and ambe strobes flashing all day. Yes, it is a Grote, but it is so new that it is NOT in the on-line catalog. Part # 53572 I also was given a Wig-Wag switch to put on the headlights. I had to be good all week, a John Deere salesman among about 2000 policemen. Something else that I picked up - a 4 LED mini light that I am going to put on the roll cage. Yeah - these were at the chrome shop also, but not near as expensive - comes in Red and Amber.

Grote does not have the bar on the web site yet - just introduced for ambulance use - but perfect for a buggy... For the mini lights - the least expensive place is
www.allelectronics.com They also have killler deals on electronic relays... ($1.00 each) I get all my heat shrink supplies from them - its one of those "radio nerd" stores. Thats what I was in a previous life.

I just picked up a white LED mast light for my whip.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... tegory=384 Looks like it will be eye catching and fits a standard 1156 automotive socket.
