Anyone have any experience getting their Manx verified through the Manx Club? I sent the pictures they suggested (plus a few extras) last week and haven't heard a word. I also sent a follow-up email and got no response to that either. Is this a long process? Image

jspbtown, I doubt that it's a long process. Unfortunately you sent your info. to Winnie and Bruce as they were up to there burro's in getting prepared for the "Lollygagging in Lone Pine Run". It started today 10/21/05 and ends on 10/23/05. Everything grinds to a slow crawl when they are preparing for a Club Run, and I'm sure that as soon as they return from Lone Pine they will be catching up with the mail. Hang in there, it should be soon. Bob

I got my ManxII verified by Bruce last winter. It took about 3 weeks for a response. They will get to you.

Hey thanks guys for the info. I will put my patience hat on. As a side note, yesterday I had to push the Manx out of the garage so I could work on my M3. I had it in the middle of the driveway for about 20 minutes when some random guy drove in the driveway and started talking to me about it. He told me how he built a buggy years back when he was a kid, and how VWs were the first cars he ever worked on. It was a great conversation. Well during that 1 hour discussion two additional people stopped by, and one offered to buy the car right then and there. Now you gotta realize I am in the early process of the teardown. The wires are hanging, the headlights are off, the top is just resting inside the well worn body, and the floors are showing their swiss cheese imitation. And he still wanted it! Felt great. This is the first time I have ever had anyone come up and offer to buy one of my projects BEFORE I had even really started it. And I tell you...I have had some wild stuff in my driveway! And none of them in the early stages fo restoration got this much attention! ImageImage

The red one is a Sterling. Manufactured in the early 1980's in California by California Component Cars. Looked like this when I got it Image The white car is a Manta Mirage. Also made in CA by the Lovette brothers. The Sterling was a VW based car. The Manta had a custom frame, mid engine 350 chevy and a Corvair transaxle. I got the Mirage in Ottawa Canada.

Still nothing......

Sent my request on 10/14. Not a word yet. Still too early for a follow-up?

I'd give them a call. Usually either Winnie or Carol will answer the phone. However, once I got Bruce, and we just talked and talked, that was fun!
