VW light Switches

Pretty simple question here. I have a 70 ish vw head light switch and red lit hazzard switch on my dash that I need to remove tomorrow. Does anyone know if the knobs pull or screw off? I know I am going to have to use needle nose to take off the slotted nut. Stupid question but I have a lot to do tomorow and trying to get answers to everything I am not sure of. Thanks,

The ones I'm familiar with the knobs screw off.

On the one I have out of a 78 bus, the whole shaft screws out of the switch. Just turn the knob to the left. On the headlight switch just the knob comes off.
