I put it for sale on a couple of sites for 6k without the motor. do you think that too much? or not enough? its and original manx. fully restored. I have pics if they will help. but no way to resize them. link to pics! http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=243696

I can see by looking at the buggy you probably have at least 6K into it without the engine. The problem is, everybody thinks they can build the same thing for 3K and be done and on the road by the end of the month, but when they try, they end up spending at least 6K and it takes them 2 years. I think if a person that realizes that when you drop a $1200 engine in it and you have a nice looking, driveable buggy for $7,200 bucks. It will sell.

I am not certain, but having title and tags should be a vallue added feature. If I could afford it I would buy it and wedge in one of those Northstar v-8's or a wrx turbo? That car would look good with a Briggs and Straten. Hold out for what you want.

the problem may be the number of buggys in your area? I would have jumped on that if it had been out this way when i was looking. would have ended up being a lot cheaper too.and i still need to put in a few grand to be comparable to that.I think you just need to find someone that wants a buggy to buy and drive. i'd consider posting it with the price with the engine installed first, and the lower price without.

Depends on what you call fully restored. I have seen buggys for sale having a list of all the extra goodies and when you start checking, the list was a lie, too high a price By the photos, it looks like you raced it. Tranny any good? Only 1 seat, what kind??no lights, is the wiring complete?? no plates. Is the DMV paper work current? Too many more questions come to mind., than room to list. Good paint job, though. :2cents: Jimbo
