Fiberglass Question

Post by MickeyUSA »

Quick question for all that have worked with fiberglass. Sanding the 5 layers of paint off the buggy and two layers of paint off the sides, I noticed there are a couple of low spots in the side that I would like to straighten, (glazing putty on a regular car would work). Can I rough up the sides and use resins to build it up or is there a better way? Don't want it to seperate later and show through the paint.

If the low spots are not too deep (1/16" or so) use a good quality body filler. Or apply a few layers of glass cloth and finishing resin and sand out. Either will work Contact Tap Plastics if in CA. They can help you with the details
