I'm Furious!!!

Post by Gene-C »

Hello folks...I've just been accused of being a parasite due to the fact I have offered services and free phone consultations to folks regarding their Corvair engines. "Wuzabug" just as much told me I wasn't welcome as a result. Who is this character, and what right does he have to say I don't participate...ask all of you who have called my personal phone and talked to me for endless hours about their Corvair engine problems...I love this stuff.... As far as making money off of this site....I've sold nothing, and have received no revenue! I tried to sell a Manx clone for an elderly gentleman who is dying of heart disease...One of you drug us along for 2 months, promising to buy it, then after much preperation on our behalf, he backs out because he "can't drive it in mid-winter in Minnesota"...duh! I was also told that you are a fraternity, and our job is to help each other out...ask Monkiboy about the free Gates Commando 10-15 tire he's getting from me...and he lives in the UK. Who are these empowered people who search out others to poke fun at them. Dr.Mike McCrae.....builder of 3 Manx clones, and 10 Manx engines

I'm always amazed at how people behave behind a computer screen vs. if chatting in real life at an event. Don't let people's rudeness on an Internet forum get under your skin and drive you away. And it's hard to do, but don't retaliate against their stupidity if you can help it. Emotions can create a lot of needless battles. You know you're doing right and the people you speak with on the phone must be ok with it or they'd hang up, right?

In our emails, I only stated we are here to help each other out. From looking at your posts, you seem to only be on this site to make money. If you whant to help fellow buggy owners, why not post your information her where we all can see it? As far as being empowered, I dont claom to be. I call em as I see em.

Thank you "vreuther" for your wise words. I came to offer advice on what I know best, the Corvair engine and drive train. I offered the headers for sale, as they are no longer being produced anywhere in the country. As a phone conversation is much more productive than trying to teach something on a forum, I offered that. I've learned my lesson here....to offer credibility and help makes you a target...so be it...

DrMike. You have been targeted by only one person. For reasons which are obscure to me. Ignore him. If you upset the rest of us we will surely let you know about it.

Another thing to consider is to check out the profile of the person you are talking to on the forum by double clicking their name and checking their date of birth. You might be arguing with a 12 year old! Although in this case wuzabug appears to be 43.

Dr. Mike = Good ---- WuzABug = Confused

Post by Gene-C »

Hey WuzABug... I read & re-read & re-re-read all of the posts by Dr. Mike & I'm pretty sure you must not have! ALL of his posts were in the appropriate places & NONE of them were trying to make money "in-appropriately"! He offered help & parts & though I don't know him, I've been told his Corvair powertrain knowledge is awesome! I don't know who appointed you "watch-dog"... and your opinion of Dr. Mike is very very wrong! You need to stand up & do what is RIGHT... make an apology to Dr. Mike ASAP!!! Im a suprised I dont have more support here. Drmike has only been a member here for 2 months. Every single one of his posts have been about selling something. I have seen no helpful threads at all. If you guys know something I dont, then I stand corrected. As far a drmike being furious,I never meant to offend anyone. just trying to protect the club. I hate it when peeps that come on this site just to sell something.

Scott, In my mind, there is nothing wrong with someone coming to the site to sell something.....provided they use the classifieds. Just as I think there is nothing wrong with people coming to the site to ask questions no matter how many times they have been asked. If the people who contribute, no longer contributed because of bad vibes, rules or attitude. That would be ashame. I've read DR's post and while having a sales like overtone, perhaps he just feels like he stumbled upon a new group of people that he can help by providing a now obsolete item and helpful pointers (corvair headers). If the admin doesn't have a problem with it, I certainly don't.

Actually, some of us DO have some interest in Corvair power. My buggy pan was set up for Corvair power when I got it, and I seriously considered keeping it that way. I`ve since replaced the pan with traditional VW. I still have the Corvair rear, and transaxle, and thinking about going Corvair power in a future rail project.
