Poly seats with sliders?

Post by Gene-C »

I need to install a pair of poly seats in my new buggy project but dont know if the poly seats have any way of using sliders? Any ideas on this? Or pics on your install to the floor pan? Thanks!

Yes, poly seats will work with the standard sliders. I'm putting a set in the sandrail.

What are the dimensions of the mounting points on the poly seats? front to back and side to side in the threaded inserts? And if u can the same dimensions for the points where the sliders attach to the floor? Thanks!

I had a set of Hunsaker poly seats mounted to cut down VW sliders. 2 flat sheet metal bars were added across the VW tubing to mount the seat on. Worked well. It was like sitting on the floor. I still have them if you are interested. Tom

Here was my answer to installing saturn seats in my buggy. It would work well for poly seats. I cut the original sliders off of the VW seats. I welded tabs to them. I got a piece of 1/4" aluminum that would go all the way across the tops of the slides to the outside edge. Then bolted it together. The whole plate slides using the original VW slides. You can mount any seat you desire to it. This is the best picture I can find and it's not good. Bottom view. Image
