I`m just about ready to start painting the pan, and was wondering how much POR 15 to order. Do others put it on straight out of the can, or do you reduce it? I was thinking 2 or 3 quarts, or do I need a whole gallon?

POR-15 is to be used directly out of the can, do not thin it. 1 qt. will easily do a complete floorpan. A little goes a long way.

I was wondering about por-15 myelf. I've used it about 4 years ago on my berrien chassis for my classic manx. I'm starting another buggy, with a VW pan, and is this still the best stuff out there? I was a little pissed, as some of the por-15 didn't stick on the berrien frame as good as I had hoped. That was after a full degreaseing and Por-15's marine clean and metal ready . I know it seems like a ton of companys claim theirs are better. What do you guys think? Other than that small issue I liked how well it came out. Just make sure you use heavy duty gloves. I used some cheep ones, and had por-15 inside my glove. Didn't know untill I took the gloves off! DOH! -Jay

What is POR-15??? Sounds good stuff,, not seen it in UK,, how bout you Dave? Maybe another name for black wax-oil.

DOH! -Jay[/QUOTE] I have never had any problems with POR-15 so I don't know if anyone makes anything better because I'm happy with POR-15.

I found it to be almost mistake proof, it is self leveling and looks a lot like it has been powdercoated. I used less than one quart on my Berrien Chassis. The Black and the Silver both have good coverage - but be sure to stir, not shake the silver. WEAR GLOVES!!! the metal ready is acid and the POR15 itself does not come off of your skin - it has to wear off!!!
