I was digging thru parts boxes last night and found what looks to be a real Hurst VW shifter. The chrome is not too bad, the plastic base is there, but the rubber boot is in very bad shape. Is there any source of parts for these things?

I think the only source is to use parts from one of the more modern 'repros' like a lot of places sell. Seems a shame to scavenge parts from a new shifter that an eight year old Tiawanese child took seconds assembling in exchange for a couple of grains of rice though. Mmmm...might delete that last sentance... If you do find a source give me a shout as the boot's split on my fathfull old Hurst too.

CIP1 sells the replacement boot and plastic covers, I think they are $6.00 a piece. I've seen a guy selling them on eBay for $20.00 a piece. Links below http://www2.cip1.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=C13%2D4450%2D5 http://www2.cip1.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=C13%2D4450%2D6
