suspension questions

I am in the planning stages for my next buggy. It will be long body, based on a link pin pan with IRS on the rear. I have an aftermarket bare beam with extended shock towers, adjusters, etc., but cant see how it could posssibly fit under a buggy body, I also have a stock beam with adjusters, and the stops cut off. My question is how much travel can you get out of a stock link pin beam, what shocks are you using, what modifications have you done? What do extended trailing arms do to wheel position, and fit, under a buggy body. I am planning a lift, but hope to do no more than 11/2 to 2". As far as the rear goes, I think stock trailing arms, boxed in. Would like to know how much travel and what other modifications might be in order. Planning a center adjuster. Are stock spring plates, CV's, axles, O.K. with maybe a 2017? Do I need stronger CV's? Planned use is all around, towing behind motorhome for use on vacations, as well as maybe 15 days a year on the sand. My current buggy is shortened, ball joint, swing axle, 1914, all with mild modifications, and I love it, but the kids are getting too big to fit comfortably in back, and I am hoping to get a better ride out on the sand.
