I can't get my motor to idle at all! Please help!

I went for my first off road experience last night and while I was out and about the wire that connects the power to the starter fell off. I got it back on and my car won't idle any more. It ran perfect before this happened. There was also a cut in the fuel line right before one of my carbs but I fixed that and now there is no more leaks that I am aware of. The motor runs fine at a high RMP and the lower the RPM gets the more it stumbles until it finally just dies. I checked to see if my dizzy was loose at all and it's still tightened down rock solid so the timing shouldn't be off. I did check it to make sure and at cranking it's about 5 deg. BTDC and it advances normally like it should with a 009. As well as I checked all the electrical connections and they seem to be all good and tight. I pulled the idle jets out of my carbs and checked them and they were still nice and clean as well as the main jets were nice and clear. No dirt or anything in them at all. I did bend some push rod tubes and I though I might have bent some push rods but while I was replacing the push rod tubes i checked and the push rods were still straight as could be. I don't thin I mashed the heads or cylinders at all because I'm running J tubes and there had no damage to them at all. Would there be some way I could have knocked the heads off kilter with out damaging the J tubes? I'm really confused about this one. I'm guessing ,or at least hoping, that it should be a simple problem I just can't think of it. Thanks for the help in advance. Oh ya it's a 1835 with dual baby dells and stock ignition with a blue coil in a 73 baja if that matters at all. Is there any way that the spark could have gotten messed up so it wont idle? It almost sounds to me that the advance in the dizzy is stuck or something. Very confusing. I need to get this fixed due to the fact that this is my DD. Thanks for any help in advance.
