Where can I get blank brake drums? I have the stock vw 4x100mm bolt pattern... I want to use aftermarket wheels with the 4x100 or 5x114 pattern that way I have vast options in wheels and offsets. I did a search in VW site stores and there are only a couple of choices in wheels, most old fashioned or classic VW style. I want to use the tunner style wheels like enkei etc etc etc... thanks!

These do custom drums and discs but I guess they're on the wrong side of the pond... http://vwxyz.m7a-shop.com/HTML/cart.htm

You could always use an adaptor. Here`s an adaptor for VW to Chevy. There`s tons of choices for Chevy wheels. http://www2.cip1.com/ProductDetails.asp ... C10%2D6706

So Cal Imports has them at $29.95, Part number 113501615JB, fits Type 1 between '68 - '77. Here's the web site I saw them on Blank Brake Drums (on the right side, click on the "Brake Components" link and then on the next page look towards the bottom, right after the 4 lug and 5 lug brake drums). They can also drill just about any lug bolt pattern for you as well, of course more $$$ to do that.

So Cal will drill what ever bolt pattern you want on either VW drums or disc rotors. Just give them a call instead of e-mailing and they will help you out right over the phone. I have purchased from them several times now and have been very satisfied every time. Always been very helpful on the phone each time. The pricing for drum, drilling and studs to your requirement is very reasonable and they will do it right the first time. Never had a problem with wheel balance. I would not even consider using wheel adapters. Besides for street use they are illegal in most state anymore and you can not even get your buggy inspected with them on in most cases which means you will have to pull your adapters and mount a stock set of wheels just to get it past inspection. Just spend the money and get either the drums or rotors drilled to what ever bolt pattern you want to use and be done with it. Just my :2cents: worth.
