I am getting close to spraying the shell of my manx and was wondering if there was an original orange metal flake color that Manx used? The original shell was plain orange, and looked good -- but I'm thinking of going old school on this so it really shines in the sun! If there was not an original color -- does anyone have any suggestions? I will be going to the paint supply place next week to look through the house of colors catalouge, just trying to do a little homework. Thanks for any input. Dave

I went with the House of Kolor orange flake in the standard size-the largest. It's F18. http://www.hokpaint.com/scripts/depot.e ... chip15.bbx But I went with a blck base coat to get a copper color. You should use their matched orange base to get a real orange. But the quality and flake is very nice. here's a pic where you can kind of see the sparkle. but pictures don;t really do it justice to what it looks like in person on a sunny day.

Thanks for all the replies guys, I think i have narrowed it down to Tangelo Orange -- large flake--. It's a real bright orange tangerine color, I'm thinkin stainless roll bar and polished aluminum shjould set this off pretty well. I haven't locked the rims in yet, once i see it together the rims will come to me -- my painter is telling me chrome 5 spoke cragars but i want to see it together first. Thanks again! Dave

Hi Dave, The Cragar S/S wheels are right at home on a Manx. They make the car look "street" while a set of Centerlines gives the car that "race" appearance. I purchased new set of Cragars in '04 from Summit Racing and was shocked to find that the chrome 5 spoke section had metal weld splatter stuck to the surfaces. The chrome looked nice and deep. The back of the wheels are painted silver, not chromed at all. The alloy centers have steel bars cast into the outer edge and are welded to the outer wheel. That's where the rust started. I have a set of Centerlines, but need to buy a set of tires to mount first before I can install on the car. Good luck!
