maxi filter sump

After giving up on the spin on filter/oil pump ass'y I've also looked at the maxi filter sump that CB Performance sells.It looks like it would do a better job than the stock strainer.Anyone tried one of these or read anything either pro or con?Thanks for any input.

I do not thing they are a good idea. They can cause a restriction to the inlet side of the pump which can cause oil starvation to the bearings. Full flow oil filtering with an external mounted filter is a better way to go. Every engine I have worked on, American, European, Japanese, and others have alway just a screen on the inlet side to the pump with most of them having an external mounted filter.
