I was tinkering with my Tourista today...trying to get the roof to fit, and so on...and one of my neighbors came up asked me how much it weighed...and I really had no idea. (He once raced Sprites, and thinks Buggys might be heavier)

My buggy weighs 600 kg's with all the scaffolding & the tool bag etc on board,, thats about the same weight as an F1 race car. My buddies SWB Manx type weighs 540 kg's,,, but thats without any roll bar, tool box or fire extinguishers etc on board.

My FiberFab weighs @ 1380#. It has a full cage, IRS, sway bars & big brakes. We think the Manxter was @ 1500#. but it is too late to weigh it as an aircooled car. We will weigh it as a Manxter S when it is done. I'm guessing @ 1800 # then. Tom

I weighed my SWB buggy shortly after I got it on the road. With a full fuel tank it weighed 1260 pounds. I wonder just how much that extra 14 inches weighs?

My Manx is not very skinny....it weighed in at 840 Kg with 1/2 a tank of fuel(30 liters),no spare and no tools but it had the empty tool box in the back...obviously it's a little bit modified from the original that weighed in at 540 Kg.....
