"Cavorting in Calico"
Heres a preview to the flyer for all who want to make your resevations and planning. The Manx Club will be at Calico March 13-15 2009 We will be staying at the Calico campground. The phone number for reservations is 1-800-TO CALICO or 1-(760) 254-2122 You need to call and make your reservations and tell them you are with the Manx Club. We will be placed in camp "A" or "B". I strongly suggest reserving you RV or tent space very soon. This event schedule will be alittle different than last events. Instead of a potluck, we will be having a buffett style dinner at the Calico House restarant for $14 a person. $6.00 per child (tax and tip included) menu to follow There will be two Saturday morning departure times. 930 am for the folks who dont want to check out Calico 1230pm for the folks who want to check out Calico. The show and shine will be either at the campground or the lower parking lot by the entrance to Calico. There will be tshirts for this event on a " as ordered basis" design and cost to follow. I hope this gives everyone ample notice Thank you and see you in Calico BuggyBob rhunter8037@sbcglobal.net 775-771-6428

heres the message from Calico
Hi Bob, I spoke with you yesterday when you made the reservation for Cabin #4. There are three other people who make reservations here, and I will make sure the others are all aware of the Manx Club coming in etc. In fact, I am giving them a copy of your email to have near their computers! Look forward to helping the others get their campsites, From Serena Calico Ghost Town Reservations

Mel and Dale and I did a run up through Calico last year. We based out of the Slash-X cafe, and spent one night at the old Alvord mine site. Lots of great trails. Fort Irwin did expand their boundries, so we ran into some fence lines where the maps didn't have any. But all-in-all, it was a great trip. Here's a link to my pics from that trip. http://www.manxgallery.org/gallery/album371?page=1 There are three days of tracs from the GPS in the last pic on the second page. Click on the pic a couple of times to enlarge it enough to see the tracks.

Hi Mike, Would you be interested in being a lead buggy for one of the runs in Calico? Give me a call at 775-771-6428 when you get a chance. Thanks Bob
Just got off the phone with Calico Campground. Spaces are going fast for the Manx Club. She said Section "a" is filled with Manx club and now they are filling Section "B". Section "A" has 28 spaces. Sorta of gives you an idea of how many people will be there. She said if "b" fills up the the only thing left is dry camping. Other options are moteling it in Barstow.
