A Tow'd found me!

I saw this Meyers Towd advertised on the local Craigslist. It was so ugly/cute I bought it today. The seller had brought it to Washington state from Alaska.
The specifics: Serial number TF469G920E. Can someone decode this number for me? The fiberglass pan is damaged but repairable. It has a complete set of new panels & fenders. New (reproduction) stainless steel gas tank, needs fuel filler. The steering/dash brace and tow-bar are missing. Can someone post pictures of what it should look like, and how they attach?
The front frame looks like it had a steel plate that was modified where the beam bolts on. Again, Can someone post some pictures of what it should look like? Here is a slideshow of more pictures: http://s291.photobucket.com/albums/ll300/manxrob/Meyers%20Towd/?albumview=slideshow I?m planning a full tune-up, and maybe an IRS install for next years club runs. Thanks!

Ok, that means you still need a Manx SR, Manxter, Kickout, Resorter and a Meyers Minx minibike

Ahhhh! I forgot about the Resorter and Lynx. And then after reading CairoManx's post on the Lynx to find out there are multiple models too! Oh well, just collect one at a time!

I want to thank the folks that have contacted me with ideas, contacts and reference photos. This club is a great virtual gathering place with some fine folks supporting us. From the info I?ve received, the number tag TF469G920E decodes as T(Towd)F(fiberglass)469(sequential build#)G9(born July1969)20E(Color ?Emerald metalflake?) The ?damaged? front plate is where the steering column/Tow bar was removed. Mine is gone! Does anybody have a line on a spare? The frame was repaired and gusseted at the torsion housing mounts. I will probably re-do the repair. A build plan is coming together. I?m going to do a ?restoration? type rebuild so it will present as it would have in the early 1970?s. 5 lug ?Jackman style? or maybe Ansen type aluminum dish wheels, modern off-road tires, king-pin front, IRS rear, type1 transmission, and either the existing DP1600 or Corvair engine. All wrapped up in a full dress (fenders, hood & engine cover) ?20E? Emerald Green ( http://www.meadowbrookinventions.com/lo ... metal.html page 2 color card) as close as I can get with 2 stage paint. The buggy will see street and some lite off-road duty, technical trail stuff . No, well not much, jumps or rock crawling. It?s not a youngster anymore. And I need this to be a fairly low budget car!
I decided to go ahead and convert the Tow?d to IRS and purchased a 1971 rear clip today. The price was right. I have several questions though: - What are my options for running 5 lug drums on the IRS rear? I don?t think I can increase the rear track and still keep standard wheel offset with the tires under the fenders.
- The torsion bars protrude about 6 inches on the IRS clip. Is this going to be cause of headaches? What are my options?
- What size tires are folks running with Towd fenders? And what transmission gearing to support those tires?
Thanks again!
