Just fixed my speedo...

Post by shaky »

No big deal you might say but I was so hacked off at the end of last season when my speedo started to bang. It is the original speedo, a '68 one off year. Also the floor pan was semi auto so the speedo has extra (redundant) warning lights. So I looked around and the best I could get without getting ripped off was a '69 with the white 10ths on the odometer. I took my old unit out today and decided to strip it before fitting the '69, nothing to loose. If it was just the odometer I could live without it. It turned out to be the big ole magnet seized in its casing. I stripped out the '69 and the two are identical (apart from being seized). Swapped em over and we have a working '68 semi auto speedo again. I know... sad, but it floats my boat.
