Lori Ann's Tow'd

Post by Kev250R »

I'm also a fan of using Odyessey batteries, between my dual-sport motorcycles and my two 'Buggies I'm running five of them right now.  The first one I had in my 'Buggy was installed for five years and sat without being on a charger for long periods of time with no problems.  I finally pulled it out last spring just because I was getting nervous about it going dead due to age.  That battery now powers a small self-contained air pump I put together and is still going strong.

They are pricey batteries but I've had good luck with them for what I've used them for.  I'm using PC680's which are narrow and tuck-up nicely under the rear deck.  The only drawback is the PC680's have a limited reserve capacity so be careful about leaving your lights on with the engine-off for too long.  Here's a pic of my set-up:

Oh and if you haven't noticed yet , you'll have to recess a tandem master cylinder back against the metal pedal box ie cut out an eliptical hole in the fiberglass so the mounting face of the master cylinder mounts hard up against the back of the metal pedal box ,
Why ??????? you may ask , if not that extra 10mm or 3/8" of the late model tandem being further foward due to to the fiberglass thickness and your long steering drag link will hit the master cylinder at full up travel when straight ahead .
At this point i would sacrafice fiberglass over safety and fit the later master cylinder , ( i know it's an uncut tub and all )
Any way just my penny thoughts for tonight

No not finished Andrew,(installing new 140 hp in the Manx Vair) and working a lot of hours lately. Great info on the master cylinder though, I'm using the dual stage so I will pay attention to this fact.

You make me wise I kept mine. Yours is very nice nicer than mine. the added frame makes all the difference IMO. Also love the color.

Sorry, I missed this earlier, the Goodyear's are 235/75R15, I wish they had a 205/75R15 to run on the front but I couldn't find that size.

We decided to pull the fenders and signature wheels off for the Borrego Retro Event run, we knew we'd be encountering a lot of rocks.
