Wing mounting hardware
Wing mounting hardware
Does anyone have any pictures of the wing mounting hardware as it mounts to the body? Im trying to fabricate my radiator mount but need to get the wing in place. Thanks in advance.
Re: Wing mounting hardware
Hello Artie,
I recently just completed mounting the radiator on our Dual sport 025. I first mounted the wing and then made the radiator mounts fit the wing angle. The top of the wing hinges off the body and I made some brackets to mount the sides. Are you using the Ron Davis radiator he makes for the Manxter ?
Hope that helps.

Thank you for the reply. The rod Davis radiator was way to expensive. I picked up another radiator with the same dimensions that I will have to modify to have the filler neck in the right location. So the aluminum color bracket is the one that you created?

Re: Wing mounting hardware
On my wing mounting to the body I used reversed stainless steel hinges from West Marine. They are kind of like the ones used on the airbox for a Manxter.
To hold wing to body I using the draw latches that are the same one for the front hood.
I also used L brackets from bumper cage to lower inside corners of body. Another thing I did was made up struts using stainless rods and heim joints to hold up wing. This was something I saw on Mark Miller Dual Sport Manxter. It also make a great way to level wing too.

Re: Wing mounting hardware
Ok I figured out the way I will mount everything. One last question is, can anyone provide me with the angle their radiator ( or supports) sit at? This is a reference angle. I will fine tune it once I mount the wing to the body. Thank you.
Re: Wing mounting hardware
Hi Artie,
I measured mine tonight and with the chassis level the radiator angle is approx. 19 degrees.

Great. Thank you so much.
Re: Wing mounting hardware
Another question. What are you folks out there using as rubber isolators for radiator mounting?

Re: Wing mounting hardware
I am using 1/4in thick wetsuit material for the expansion and cushion. I found the material at a surplus store many years ago. It has held up well since installing the radiator. The Ron Davis radiator expands more side to side then top to bottom.

Awesome. Thanks for the food for thought.

Those look great! keep posting on your progress as I'm quite a way from the radiator stage though.
