Warfigther Made-Adrenaline Therapy Track Day

The Manx Club has been offered another great opportunity to give back. At the awards ceremony in April for the 2018 NORRA Mexican 1000 the “Warfighter Made” team acknowledged Bruce’s veteran status during their award reception. Warfighter Made is a Veterans group who’s mission is to “Provide recreational therapy to ill, injured, and combat wounded service members and veterans, through the adaptation and customization of cars, trucks, motorcycles and off road vehicles”. One of their events is called “Adrenaline Therapy Track Day” the next date is scheduled for Saturday, 28 July 2018 at Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino CA. Bruce and the Manx Club have been invited to spend the day with the veterans and for those willing, provide buggy rides to veterans and their family members on the closed Lucas Oil race course. Warfighter Made will have their therapy RZRs and off road vehicles for veteran use. Only 1 vehicle at a time will be allowed on the course. Bruce & Winnie, Lori Ann & I will be attending with the #302 DSBE to provide rides for veterans and/or family members. The Warfighter Made group is preparing for their next adrenaline track day at Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernadino, CA. Manx Club members were on hand at the last track day to be available to offer rides in their buggies on the track, worked flagging the corners, operating the control tower, safety inspecting the vehicles prior to entering the track, members also manned the BBQ and provided a shoulder for the Vets to lean on. WFM will provide some shade and water but it is best if you bring your own, the purpose of the day is to provide for the vets. There is more info here;

note; *buggies are required to have a minimum 3 point safety belt system to provide rides
*All vehicle occupants are required to wear a helmet(if you have 1 bring it)
*Safety brief begins at 1100 hrs.
*If you have a VHF type handheld radio bring it.

The last Adrenaline Therapy Track Day for 2018 will be held on Saturday Dec 8th and will recognize Vietnam Veterans. If you are a veteran and would like to participate you must have your DD214 to operate any WFM vehicle and participate in the driver training portion. If you would like to operate your own buggy on the course no DD214 is needed. We can also use volunteers for a variety of duties to allow the vets more time on the course. WFM provides shade, water, lunch but you can also bring your own. If you are interested in attending please email me at mdario@manxclub.com for further details. Please note the Safety brief time of 0900 hrs, this is earlier then previous events. Upon arrival at the gate advise you're with the WFM group and they will let you enter for free and give you directions. I will be onsite to provide any assistance I can.
