Thanks you guys. It was a labor of love. We had so much fun and all of us learned just how reliable these fun little cars are!
So, what do you think?
The 50th anniversary of the Meyers Manx is coming next year (2014). In celebration of a car born in Baja, how about a run from San Diego to La Paz and back? It's less than 2000 miles round trip, and it could be a street run both ways.
Hmmm? We just need a catchy name and a new tee shirt! Well, that, and people wanting to come along.

Scott we can get behind that... The HCCA has done a 500 miler in Baja several times with the full support of the federals ... With the right contacts MC could do the same ...

Hi Mark. Although offroad would be a blast, yes, logistically I think it has to be pavement if we are to move a group of cars 2000 miles in ten (or so) days. Especially since finding gas, parts, etc. can be a challenge in some of the more remote areas. I think, too, that we can travel fewer miles per day then we did in the C2C, maybe 300 miles a day as opposed to 400-450 a day. That would allow slower average speeds and possibly a little time at the end of the day to explore around each afternoon's stopping point

First of all, an official CONGRATULATIONS to all that participated in the Sea To Sea Safari & Manx On The Banx! All of you showed & lived what these awesome little cars are all about! Y'all did good!!!
Second, I can't think of a more appropriate way to celebrate Bruce & his creation "the Meyers Manx" & his whole family of "crazy little cars"!
A trip to LaPaz & back would be funtastic! I think you would have to include a few "off-road" sections, even if it was just to play a bit!
If anyone can come up with a route, schedule etc., etc., etc., Scott, you are the man! As of right now, I'm almost ready!
Thank you to ALL in the Manx Club for helping keep the history of the Meyers Manx growing. And once again, THANK YOU to Bruce for his brilliant idea, design & ultimately building the Meyers Manx as complete cars & being able to figure out how to successfully make a "kit"!

Hey Maniac;
If you go, would you take the buggy with the Dark-Side engine?

Hey;
I was also thinking, that maybe there could be the "Posie Pickers (or whatever they are called now)" for the pavement run and maybe the more technical guys would want to do the Baja-1000 dirt/mountain/ocean/whatever) road (but not in 24 hours). Two groups. Just saying...

Hey All;
My son and his wife just stopped by for a couple of hours on their way back home to La Paz. We had a great talk about this possible run. He says that if the club needs any help from the La Paz side that he's there for any help he can give. He and his wife say that the best times to go to La Paz is between the very end of October to the beginning of May (hot and humid the rest of the time). He says January and February is best cause the Big whales and the whale sharks are over the place at that time (these whale sharks are HUGE and are fun to swim with (we were there last February and it was beautiful and the diving was great)). Lots of things to do and beaches and trails to travel. The beer is cheep, the food is great. He owns a Myers Manx and he would be excited if we showed up.

Deb and I would love to go as well if timing works out. My Towd is geared lower as well with top speed around 62, so a moderate pace would be much more enjoyable.
