Meyers Manx Sighting

Post by Tom-Kathleen »

Street Rodder Magazine, August 2006, page 100. In an article talking about Big Daddy Roth's cars, specificly the Beatnik Bandit, the Meyers Manx name comes up. "The Beatnik Bandit, though only just his second 'glass car, is handsdown Roth's tour de force styling effort. Though never actually copied, exept by Roth himself decades later, it was to the world of hot rodding what the Meyers Manx became to the off-road croud - a cultural icon ("K" at least in Roth's case). And would you believe it? Both were based on the sylized fender form of early automobiles - absolutly incredible on both counts, although Roth's wouldn't have dropped from a mold as easily as Bruce's." Tom
