The tank is much more impressive sitting in the body. I like it!

Was that the maximum capacity you could get in the space available or could you have squeeked out a couple more gallons? beautiful tank, nice design

The tank is 13.3 gals. It would be possible to enlarge it a bit more. Maybe an extra 1 or 1.5 gallons. Take a look at the picture that shows the tank from the underside sitting in the body. If you look towards the front you can see a hole. That hole is for the upper radiator hose. (My Manxter has a Subaru engine) I had to allow room for that when designing the tank. So, for an aircooled Manxter that part of the tank could be lower, gaining capacity. But, you would have to be careful that you don't come down too far which could interfere with the tie rods. So, I guess to answer your question directly, that was the maximum capacity that could be had given the available space. Capacity wise this tank is 66% larger in volume than the VW (13.3 vs 8.8 VW) and the full capacity will be useable. I am not even sure if you can use the full 8.8 gallons from the VW the way the tank gets installed. Olli
