I have mine mounted behind the driver's seat on the back of the roll bar just below the level of the body so it's visually out of the way, yet is easy to get to if needed. I just drilled and tapped a couple of small holes to put machine screws in to hold the USCG approved mount.

Hi Mike, I have to admit, I am not crazy about having it mounted that high up on the roll bar, but I would imagine that the seat belt would rub up against it, causing the webbing to wear over time. I am hoping to find a method that will allow the fire extinguisher bracket to be strapped (stainless steel is no fun to drill). Fubar, that mount looks hot, but the Manx Club roll bar is 2 inches in diameter. I do appreciate the feedback, guys.

Can't you just fit the bracket to the roll bar using hose clamps? Simple effective and cheap.

my sand buggy had one mounted on the mesh floor right in front of the drivers seat. That worked well until I high centered and wiped the bolts off. Maybe a turbo stregnth cup holder type of thing would work?

I would be reluctant to permanately mount something the size of a fire extinguisher with just velcro straps. If you go off-road, they will eventually stretch and come loose. This is where I mounted ours. Two screws and a couple easy to tap holes. Three years later it is still on tight.

Hi Roger, I will be glad to give you as much info as I can; you may want to start by checking out some of the photos I posted on 12-27-06 (http://www.meyersmanx.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4133&page=2&pp=10&highlight=berrien+buggy). The spacer provided with the upper seat belt attachment does provide for full rotation, just as it would in a standard Beetle install. Here is an additional photo; please feel free to ask any other questions that you may have.

I am mounting mine on the frount of the seat, as part of the seat frame under my legs. It is easy to get and out of the way. :2cents:

I'm going to mount mine on the main hoop of the roll cage next to the drivers seat. I'm just going to use hose clamps on mine. Although I want it to look neat, my buggy is going to be used off road a fair bit so it has to be mounted securely.
