Post by Beezer »

We,ve torn down our buggy, Beezer for a total rehab. Thought we would install a lift kit for more clearance. Does anyone know where to get lift kits and are there difference. Beezer

The best lift kits are made by Andy Felix. His lift kits are/were known as "Up Yer Bug!": Andy's Automotive Specialists 1069 S. Santa Fe, Vista, CA 92083 760-726-0130

If you don't want to go high end, we put in one of the less expensive 'C'-channel type 3" lifts you find in the ads from Hot V.W.'s magazine. I beefed it up with 3/4" square aluminium tubing at each bolt hole to keep the lift from being squeezed down when I tightened up the through bolt. It's been in the buggy for 8 years with no problems off-road. Image

Just remember though that Andy is a long time club member. I believe in supporting other club members when possible.
