Gene Berg oil temp.

Post by manxfwin »

In the process of wiring the buggy and was wondering if anyone has tried the oil temp dipstick that is sold by Gene Berg?It seems pretty simple and easily installed if it works. Thanks for any info anyone might have.

I have one on my buggy. I know it is set to about 210 when the light flickers. It works pretty good. It came on when I was breaking in the engine. It was a good warning that thing where getting too hot. I found out that I had the tach set up for an v8 instead of a 4 banger and instead of running the new engine at 1500 it was really 3000. Thing got hot real fast. The light started to flicker and I shut her down. Take a look at the tech info on the Berg web site it explains the thing pretty good.

The Berg dipstick works but it is ugly. I replaced mine with an oil temperature gauge. Now when my oil pressure light comes on I will know I have an oil pressure problem.
