I helped a girl win a bet because I remembered the theam song to the Banana Spits. They were the big stuffed dogs with the Shriners hats that ran around like they were on speed. I think they had go carts?
The Banana Splits ran around in "Banana Buggys" which were actually 6 wheel ATV's. My friend actually owns the 2nd "Banana Buggy" in the picture (see the link). I must admit it is a blast to drive.

Anyone remember "Cowboys In Africa"? the Chuck Conners tv show from the 60's. The opening credits were the best part...Manx blasting across the African plain, thru the African brush, down the African gulley...and suddenly in the air. I'm sure that African scenery would look more like California today!

The story went,,,,,,,,, a young guy got a buggy ( GP I guess ) for his birthday,, it was all wrapped up in paper and a big bow,,,,, in one scene the guy was sitting on the roll bar with his feet resting on the windshield frame,, whilst eating an ice cream by the beach,,, it just looked so cool,, and hooked me in at the time,,,, never to escape the fun since :driving:
