fuel filler on manxter

Post by ManxMe »

Hey Manxter owners, how did you set up your fuel filler (gas cap)? I am trying to figure out a neat & tidy way to mount it up under the hood. Please post pics if possible!

I know the instructions say to use a 1968 or later style tank (the kind that has the filler neck outside the car on the passenger side). But we used a 1967 and older tank. We covered the old filler neck hole, and made the neck shorter and moved it near the center. This makes for a much easier way to fill the tank. If you need a picture, pm me and I will send it. Tom

Sorry, but my tank is behind the back seat. It is just a spun aluminum one right now, but I have a cardboard mock up for the real tank. Olli had a beautiful tank made for the front of his manxter: http://www.meyersmanx.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4202

We also had one of those tanks made, but out of stainless steel because we couldn't find someone who would make it out of aluminum. It was done by Rock Valley Antique Auto Parts and we have the revised b/p. We had to lower the tank for hood clearance. Tom
