1962 Dune Buggy for Sale
1962 Dune Buggy for Sale
SOLD.
1962 Dune Buggy, looks similar to a Manx, but it's not a real Manx. Street legal. I have owned this buggy for 20 years and have taken good care of it. I am member #998. I went on runs with the club in this buggy starting around 1999 and for a few years after that. It has been kept in my garage since 2004. It drives great and has lots of power and speed. It sounds great too with the exhaust pipes it has. My oldest brother used to own a Manx with a 1914cc engine and his buggy couldn't keep up with this one.
The specs:
1835cc engine, Weber 44 carburetor, Compufire distributorless ignition system, new inline electric fuel pump, new fuel pressure regulator, new steering box, new brake switch, new headlight switch, battery is less than 2 years old and in great condition, big breather with air lines that also connect to the valve covers, AM/FM radio with 2 speakers behind the dash, custom roof (the only one like this I've ever seen), roll bar, center console storage, driver and passenger map storage pouches, ammunition box used as a storage box mounted behind the drivers seat, valves were recently adjusted, oil was recently changed, new spark plugs. Blinkers and headlights all work. Currently registered with valid California tags.
The reason I'm selling this buggy? Almost two years ago I bought a newer long body fiberglass dune buggy, a 4 seater. Also, my Dad passed away just before Christmas 2018....and I got his signature Manx fiberglass and a thousand parts along with it as a project. I need room in my garage to work on putting the signature Manx together. My wife wants this yellow buggy sold before I can do anything with the signature Manx.
Look for pictures in the next few posts. I'm ready to make a deal. I'm thinking $6,000 but that number is not set in stone. Make me an offer of what you think it is worth. All offers considered, but no trades. I already have a full length buggy and now a signature Manx that needs putting together.
The paint has chips and dings in it as you can see in the pictures.

Re: 1962 Dune Buggy for Sale
When I still had my 5 gallon gas can, I would put that and the ice chest in the back with no problems. The seat belt always kept everything in place.
Paint is chipped, not perfect. But the buggy still looks good. When I drive it around the city, I get thumbs up and cool comments all the time.
