Thanks for the nice words. I bought the buggy like this its has a custom pan with a thing front end and a pre 62 bus rear. 1914cc 120 cam 042 heads. It took a long time to get it street legal the dmv was a pain and then engine prombles i think i just got it right a few weeks a ago and then into winter storage so i am hoping it works in the sping. I wanted to use it on the beaches but found out you have to have 4wd to get the permit so i am still looking for places. I hate the low windsheild cant wait to change it if anyone looking to trade let me know. I am a big guy and my head is above it. No body lift it has 33" tires in the rear. I put more pics in the gallery if anyone want to take a peek. Ron

Get the windshield here: Dino is a club sponsor. He can also do custom sizes on the glass.
Hey Cairo Adaptors? you mean for the wheels
I was talking about the adapters to install bus reduction gear boxes on a sedan suspension. The RGB swingaxles attach directly to the transaxle the same as sedan axles. However the sedan springplates must be modified and some kind of adapter used to bolt up to the bus RGBs. Here is a long thread from The Samba that discusses it: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=203039&highlight=johnson+adapters Your brakes are Type II bus.

Cario I don't know much about the heavy internals but i am learning slowly. It looks to me like the whole rear is from a bus because of the way the body is cut under the rear seat looks like the section was welded on. I have no tunnel and the reast of the frame is custom made. That is as much as i know right now but cant wait to get drivin around. It was a nice day here tody 60 out maybe tommarow i will take it out of the truck body i have it stored in and run it for a wile.

However, yeah its very possible you have a Type 2 rear torsion housing attached to the rear of a fabricated square tube frame. I can't tell for sure but in one picture I think your torsion tube end casting and cap looks like its Type 2.
