Whether this came out of the mold before or after the close-out sale, it definitely came out of the same mold. It has a Manx 2 dash under the Corvair instrument cluster, a Transvair and a totally cool Baja Badge on the hatch cover.

I have a question, were those built on a shortened frame like the Manx or did they sit on a standard pan?

I was in a VW shop in Portland, OR a few years back and a fellow was there trying to get a title straighted out for a Utility Manx he had purchased from them. I got t talking about buggies with the fellow and he was pretty adamant he had a utility manx. From what he described it sounded like he did. On the other hand I've been told Jim Guthrie has all three that Bruce produced???? If Bruce produced three there seem to be others out there. I wonder how one would tell the difference? ID Plate? Or do they all have ID plates but some were made after Bruce left the company? I have more questions than answers.

I read in Manxmania years ago that one of Bruce's old employees turned up a photo showing three yellow lifeguard Manxes and a green forestry one, Bruce reconed he must've forgotted one...

The was talk about this buggy on the DBA site. It was said that there were a few bodys pulled from the Utility mold after it was sold and all of them were the same color green as this buggy is. How true it is, I don't know.

There are some pics of a 'flake brown one in the gallery of this forum I'm sure but I can't find them...

I talked to Winnie on this there were some made after bruce left the company. Bruce only made the yellow and green (sold) ones this one is green flake so it must be from after bruce left. She also said the all of them were located. They still look cool
