So my pedal is loose (moves left to right) but the pin is still in place. is this normal for it to "wiggle"?thanks

My roller pedal does the same thing. I added a thin washer between the pedal and the housing to counter the effect. Still has play but it is a bit less now.

ok, cool. I had it in storage for 8 months, never noticed that until now. how did you get the pin out?thanks,

You have to take the entire pedal assy out and knock the pin out with a drift pin.

Or it may just slide out like mine does. You still have to remove the pedal assembly as the pin is inserted from the tunnel side.

This isn't my favorite job to do. The hardest part is contorting your body getting the pedal in and out of the car but you can make it a little easier by taking out the driver's seat.  I have had to remove my pedal assembly a few times due to broken clutch pedals. Check yours when it's out of the car and box it if you can. You should also check the clutch pedal shaft and cable for wear. If you have the pedal out you might want to replace the cable as a preventative measure.
