Steering Shaft Length & PLacement (new build)

Post by Stone500 »

Heya Buggie Gurus: I am having a new frame built and mated to an original 69 Manx 2.....extremely excited!! Q: How long should the steering shaft be in order to optimize comfort and space away from the standard Manx windshield? Planning on installing a custom column with the webbed collapsable tube and want to determine the right length to project....I understand it depends on seat placement but I am putting in adjustable rails and setting them in the "normal backspace from the dash area" Any recommendations?

You're really best waiting until the body's on the frame and the seats are mounted. Also you should choose the steering wheel you're using. There's no such thing as a standard dune buggy I'm afraid...
