2011 Manx Club Directors Election

IMPORTANT UPDATE!
The 2011 Election ballots are in the mail to all Manx Club members whose membership dues are current. In order to participate in the election and ensure your voice is heard, you'll need to return your ballot by December 15th, 2011. So, please vote as soon as your receive your ballot and mail it back immediately.

It is that time of the year again, the Manx Club is beginning the process of electing a portion of the Board of Directors. To all of you,

I say, thank you. You have all contributed to making the Club’s past year a huge success. The Manx Club needs to continue to build on a strong base that the membership has established.
Perhaps it is time for some fresh faces & ideas to continue this building process.

Now, all of us need to prepare for the next phase in the running of the Club. Do you know of a Manx Club member that would make a good Director? Perhaps you know someone who has worked in the not for profit arenas as a board or committee member.

Between now and October 10, 2011 the nominating committee is looking for at least 6 candidates to fill four Manx Club Director positions. The entire list of potential candidates will be presented to the Board of Directors (BOD), for certification. The list of certified candidates will then be placed on ballots. These ballots and a brief resume of each candidate’s qualifications will be in the hands of each Manx Club member in good standing by October 15, 2011. This election will be for 3 Directors. In 2012, we will elect 4 Directors.
All Directors serve a two-year term on a volunteer basis.

The Election Committee has until October 10, 2011, to establish a slate of candidates, and to get each member in good standing a copy of the ballot so they can vote. The membership in good standing has from October 15, 2011 to December 15, 2011 to vote, and get their ballot mailed back for tabulation. The BOD will announce the results of the election, & seat the newly elected directors at the annual membership meeting, in March 2012.

The newly elected Manx Club officers will also be seated at this time.

For those of you who may be unsure of how this process works, I strongly recommend you go to:

and review the Manx Club By-Laws. Reading the bylaws will give you an under-standing of how this organization is managed and define how the Club must be run. Then get involved by letting the Board of Directors know who you wish to be at the helm.

Let me assure you that the BOD is listening to everything you say or write about that concerns the Club. The BOD really wants to make the Club the best it can be. Those who think otherwise are simply uninformed. This is your chance to let the BOD know exactly who you want to guide the Club throughout 2012.

You can use e-mail to send your questions, concerns, or any other Club related matters to the BOD. Simply send the message to: manxmember@yahoo.com and it will be forwarded to all of the directors. As an active member of the Manx Club, do not pass up this opportunity to have a say in who will lead the group for 2012. Remember, If your dues are not received & posted as paid up by October

01, 2011  you will not be eligible to participate in the voting process. If you do not vote, you cannot complain.
