I am new to the forum and fiberglass buggy world.
I have had 3 rails and am building a 4th now but would really like to have a Manx buggy
My searching turned up this buggy sitting in the weeds for years
I stopped to inquire about it and got a couple pictures and hoped someone would be able to tell what it is
One picture is of the badge area on the hood but I can only see where the paint has flaked away
a couple things are leading me to think its not a Manx except that badge area
Hope someone can help me out
Help to Identify buggy please

Re: Help to Identify buggy please
Do you have any pics of the whole front and side profiles of the buggy from further back?
The next to last pic is showing the condition of the fiberglass with the gelcoat beginning to peel off. You may want to look for something in better shape as to me that looks pretty rough and would take a lot of work to make nice.
Try going to the classifieds at thesamba.com. Lots of buggies for sale there from across the country.
So far as the badge area, there were many knock-offs that were made with a similar badge bump as a Manx. You would need more specific pics of certain parts around the buggy to be able to confirm what it is or is not.

If its not a Manx Im not much interested it it other than for parts
He is asking $500 for it and includes a 1600cc single port
The front is kingpin and not rusted out
rear is swing,
its had new floor pans put in it but they need finished welded
It also has a title
Thank you for your reply

Re: Help to Identify buggy please
$500 for a complete chassis is is a pretty good deal.
The dash does not look like a Manx and I don't think there were any bodies that just had the battery well and not the tire well on the other side.
It's still a good looking body and if the fiberglass isn't too bad, it will make a nice car.

Re: Help to Identify buggy please
Dune Buggy Archives is 1 online resource to help ID buggy bodies.
Re: Help to Identify buggy please
Thanks for the input
I thought I had read that the Manx bodies had a separate dash ,this one is made as part of the body or hood
the fiberglass doesnt have any cracks or problems,
Has some drilled holes that would need filled and the top coat is flaking off,you can peel it off with your fingernail
It has spent alot of time outside
He pulled the motor and kept it in his shop,he says he oils the cylinders to keep them from freezing up
Im probably going to go ahead and buy it and drag it home
Im building a rail buggy now so it wont get worked on for awhile
