I have gone back and forth on this issue. My Manx is going to have a sort of early '70s look and the modern roll bars just don't look right. Someone needs to come up with a bolt in 2" single hoop that is braced correctly. I think you could do it by running some down bars to the upper rear body mounts and still retain the clean lines of the original. I would buy one.

Yep. I have a single hoop roll bar in my buggy but in reality it's more of a support for the bimini top. I don't trust it in any sort of accident. I've always been planning on building a 6 pt. cage with belt anchors and side impact bracing.

I've just got the basic Manx roll bar in my Manx, no safety belts either as I don't legally need them for the age of the car. I drive sensibly and don't off road much so am unlikely ever to roll over. I'm happy in the knowledge that driving my Manx the couple of thousand miles that I do every year is still way safer than driving a motorcycle. If I were that concerned with safety I'd pack it all in and either buy a Volvo or just stay home...Image

It's not MY driving that I worry about.  It's the other fools on the road that are looking to crash into me that's the problem.  Legal or not, even if you are the best driver in the world, some sort of restraints (seat belts) are better than nothing when the "accident" eventually happens.  I get to see what happens when a person gets ejected from a moving vehicle at any kind of speed, and it's not pretty!

Just food for thought. Image

We live in free countries that allow us most of the freedoms in life but,  I agree with Mike.
We don't plan to be in traffic collisions but, bad things can happen to good people.  It happens every day.

Simple, logical safety measures can save you from injury or death.

While we are on the topic-
Lets not forget about "SIDE IMPACT"

If you get the chance to add some side nerf bars on the side "Do It"  .They saved my life

There is nothing to stop a vehicle from driving right through that fiberglass and right into to you and or your passenger

Thanks,

Roll cages are usually a custom design and made to fit
You need to address head room- front and rear, top or storage concerns or even spare tire

Take a look at all the different pictures and find a style you like  and then take it down to a fabricator in your area
My advice would also to make it detachable using "Tube Clamps"
